- Brake lights – If your emergency brake is on or you experience an extreme drop in hydraulic pressure, your brakes may be near failure.
- Grabbing – If your brakes are touchy and grab with even a bit of pressure, it can indicate a variety of things – something as small as oil-contaminated lining or as serious as broken components.
- Hard pedal – When your brakes require extreme pressure to work properly, this may indicate frozen calipers, power brake trouble, restricted hydraulic lines, and more.
- Low pedal – If your brake pedal nearly touches the floor before the brakes deploy, you may need a simple adjustment – or, it could indicate something more serious.
- Pull – Sometimes, vehicles pull to one side when the brake is applied. This could mean mis-adjusted brakes, an under-inflated tire, or that your brakes are in need of repair.
- Squeal – Brakes should make a minimal amount of noise. If you ever hear squeaking, screeching, groaning, or grinding, bring your vehicle into Leonard’s for an inspection.
- Vibration – If you feel vibration in the brake pedal or steering wheel when your brakes are applied, it may indicate that your disc brake rotors need to be replaced.
